With both a season-high and a game-high 31 points Kyrie Irving helped the Boston Celtics (5-2) downing the Detroit Pistons (4-2) at home (108:105).

In comparison, during the first six games Irving was averaging just 14.0 points, while shooting at 39.1 percent from the floor. This time, the Celtics’ leader boosted his percentage to 62.5, by making 10-of-16 from the field, and sent the Pistons back-to-back losses. In addition, he dished 5 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds.

Jayson Tatum poured 16 points, Marcus Morris came off the bench to score 15 points and 9 boards. On the other hand, Blake Griffin posted 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, Andre Drummond contributed 17 points with 12 boards.

With 10.5 sec. left, the Pistons had a possibility to outscore the Celtics, but Blake Griffin made a severe mistake by turning the ball over on the inbound pass and Detroit lost a chance to turn things around.
