Murcia put an end to Avellino’s perfect record

Murcia edged Avellino at home (72-69) and handed the Italians their first loss in the Basketball Champions League (3-1).

Ovie Soko, Askia Booker and Milton Doyle scored 14 points apiece for the winners, whereas Ariel Filloy had a game-high 17 points for Avellino.

The hosts played excellent on both ends of the floor in the first quarter and took a 14-point lead (28-14). Yet, the visitors came back, outscored their opponents 27-43 in the second and third quarter and were in front by two after 30 minutes in the game (55-57).

However, the Spaniards stood tall and beat the Italians to end their perfect record in the BCL. On the contrary, Murcia remained undefeated after four games (4-0).

The first day of the fourth round in the BCL saw PAOK Thessaloniki and AEK Athens defeat Nanterre (83-82) and Dijon (80-90), respectively.

This was the first win in the season for PAOK (1-3), while the defending champions claimed their third win in four games (3-1).
