Gran Canaria survived Barcelona at home (87-86) and made history by earning their first-ever victory in the EuroLeague.

The hosts played at home for the first time in the competition and edged the Catalans, who suffered their second straight loss (0-2).

It was a close game for three quarters, as no team could take a significant advantage (44-44, 64-69). In the fourth quarter, the “Blaugrana” had control of the game, yet Gran Canaria turned things around and were victorious, with Kevin Pangos missing the two-pointer at the buzzer.

Christopher Evans had 19 points and Clevin Hannah 14 for the winners. Kim Tillie and DJ Strawberry contributed 13 points apiece for the hosts.

Kyle Kuric scored a game-high 24 points for Barcelona, with Ante Tomic and Pangos adding 18 and 11 points, respectively.

Darussafaka came back from an 11-point deficit in the first quarter (14-25) and defeated Buducnost at home (71-63).

The Turks outscored their opponents 25-10 in the second quarter and took the lead (39-35). Things didn’t change much later (53-49) and the hosts claimed their first victory in the league (1-1).

Zanis Peiners had 15 points for the winners, with Stanton Kidd adding 12. On the other hand, Nemanja Gordic and Earl Clark scored 11 points apiece for the losing squad, which suffered their second straight defeat in the league (0-2).
