DeShaun Thomas talked to TalkBasket.net after the victory of Panathinaikos against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in the EuroLeague opener (89-84).

Here is what the American forward said:

On the “Greens” victory: “We had a good game, we played well, we tried to be as aggressive as we could and we certainly fought. The crowd was amazing and helped us a lot in the game. It’s important we were victorious in the opening game.”

On his personal performance: “I was ready, I tried to do my best. I took a couple of big shots and played solid. Of course, I can play much better, but what matters is that we got the victory.”

On Panathinaikos mediocre defence, as they conceded 84 points: “I don’t think our defence was bad, we switched many times. But, Wilbekin and Kane executed very well and hit some big shots. We did some mistakes and we should work on this, but I don’t think we played bad defence.”
