Hapoel Jerusalem upset the defending champions AEK Athens

Hapoel Jerusalem beat the defending champions AEK Athens on the road, in the opening day of the Basketball Champions League (75-79).

The hosts were in front by 11 at halftime (42-31), but the visitors outscored their opponents 13-27 in the third quarter and took the lead (55-58).

Xavier Rathan-Mayes had 17 points for the Greeks, with Vince Hunter adding 16 points and 11 rebounds. On the other hand, J’Covan Brown scored 21 points and dished eight assists for Hapoel Jerusalem.

Francisco Cruz’s crazy three-pointer at the buzzer gave Fuenlabrada the victory over Brose Bamberg in Germany.

The game was close until the third quarter (44-44, 59-63), but it seemed Bamberg would edge their opponents. However, Cruz hit the three-pointer and Fuenlabrada won the game.
