A 33-year-old the Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul and 9-time NBA All-Star thinks that the new Rockets addition and his good friend – Carmelo Anthony – doesn’t deserve such amount of criticism. Paul sad: “Obviously I’m a little biased because that’s one of my closest friends, but, you know, the disrespect that comes at him at times is unbelievable, you know what I mean? So for us, having one of the best players to ever play the game on our team, that’s a no-brainer” (Source: espn.com).

For a 34-year-old small forward Carmelo Anthony and 10 NBA All-Star previous season with the Oklahoma City Thunder statistically was his worst career’s period – he was averaging 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. During this summer Anthony was traded to the Atlanta Hawks. Later on Anthony accepted a contract buyout from the Hawks and signed a $2.4 million, veteran’s minimum deal with the Houston Rockets. In two preseason games with the Rockets Anthony scored 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds per game.

The upcoming season for Carmelo Anthony might be much better than previous one for one simple reason – in the Rockets he will know his exact part unlike in the Thunder. In Houston Anthony will have fixed role as the third player offensively and that will eliminate some pressure and uncertainty which he experienced last season.
