Zalgiris point guard Mantas Kalnietis joined Benetton Treviso to a multi year contract. It is reported that Lithuanian playmaker signed 3-year-deal with Italian side. The signing of Kalnietis was already reported on TalkBasket.net previously.
Mantas Kalnietis moved to a starting point guard position last season after Zalgiris parted ways with American Willie Deane. Kalnietis used his chance to impress and had the best season of his career so far. He averaged 8.5 points and 3.1 assists per game in Euroleague.
Benetton Treviso are also seriously interested in Lietuvos Rytas head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis. The club doesn't want to let him go even though Kurtinaitis himself is very keen to move to Italy.
