Brandon Jennings led Zenit St Petersburg past Turk Telekom

Brandon Jennings came close to the triple-double and helped Zenit St Petersburg beat Turk Telekom at home in EuroCup’s season opener.

The Russians dominated their opponents for three quarters and cruised to an easy victory (91-80). The Turks tried to come back in the fourth quarter (18-28), yet they came up short and suffered their first defeat in the competition.

Brandon Jennings had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for Zenit, as three more players scored in double figures.

On the other hand, Sylven Landesberg scored 23 points and dished five assists for Turk Telekom, with Vladimir Stimac adding 20 points and eight boards.

Fraport Skyliners spoilt Larry Brown’s Eurocup debut as head coach and defeated Fiat Turin in overtime at home (88-85).

The Germans were in front by eight at halftime (45-37), yet the Italians turned things around and tied the game at the end of regulation (75-75). In the overtime, though, the Skyliners stood tall and escaped with the victory (88-85).

Erik Murphy led the Germans in scoring with 19 points, with Jason Clark contributing 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Quantez Robertson posted 14 points and eight boards for the winners.

Jamil Wilson had 19 points and six rebounds for Turin, as James Mc Adoo added 17 points and eight boards.

Unics Kazan decimated Mornar Bar on the road (74-97) and spoilt the hosts’ debut in the EuroCup.

The Russians had control of the game from the opening tip and never looked back. Maurice NDour was unstoppable for the winners, with 29 points (on 11/12 shooting), eight rebounds and 43 in the index rating system.

Storm Koenig had 19 points for Mornar Bar.

Monaco beat Brescia on the road to claim their first-ever EuroCup victory (68-80). The French team were in front from the beginning of the game and were victorious in their first-ever match in the competition.

Elmedin Kikanovic had 20 points for Monaco, as three more players scored in double figures.

Jordan Hamilton scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds for Brescia.

Trento edged Partizan at home and earned their first victory in the new EuroCup season (82-73). It was a close match between the two teams for three quarters (62-58), yet the Italians played better in the fourth quarter and sealed the victory.

Nikola Radicevic had 15 points for the winners, as Devin Marble and Toto Forray scored 14 points apiece for Trento.

Vanja Marinkovic contributed 19 points for the Serbians and Marcus Paige posted 16.

Limoges played without Samardo Samuels, who was suspended on Monday, yet they easily beat Cedevita at home (82-68).

The French team was in front by 11 at halftime (44-33) and retained their lead in double digits until the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
