According to Jared Weiss from The Athletic, the 38-year-old NBA veteran Jamal Crawford and 3-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year has “mutual interest” with the Boston Celtics team:

“There is mutual interest between the Celtics and Crawford. That I do know. The Celtics didn’t make an offer to him. He’s been kind of waiting for the right situation to materialize. That’s why he’s holding out to training camp, basically. He wants to be in a position to win a championship. He wants to sign on with one of these title teams”.

Last season Jamal Crawford played for the Minnesota Timberwolves and was averaging 10.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists per game with 41.5 field goal and 90.3 free-throw percentage playing 80 regular-season games off the bench.

Interestingly enough, just one season before when Crawford was asked about his decision to join the Wolves which were mediocre team at that time over possibility to be part of the championship level team Cavaliers or Warriors he said:

“I felt like the time is right. I felt like I could fit. At this point of my career, I could easily chase a championship. I’m not saying we won’t compete, but it’s not about that. I want to take the journey and go through the wars with these guys. The Cavs, they’ve been there. Those guys know what it’s like to be in the Finals and win a championship. The Warriors, same deal. If I went there and let’s say we happen to win, what’s next? Sometimes it’s more gratifying to help teams go from one point to another point”.

Jamal Crawford is known as an ankle breaker due to his incredible dribble skills and mobility. During his outstanding 18-year career in NBA he is scoring 15 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists per game.
