Nigeria and Tunisia became the first teams that secured their place in the 2019 World Cup, which will take place in China next year (31 August – 15 September).
Both teams extended their unbeaten streaks (8-0), as Nigeria defeated the Central African Republic (114-69) and Tunisia dominated Egypt (69-47).
Nigeria’s victory ensured the D’Tigers will not drop below the second place in Group F. At the same time, Tunisia’s unbeaten record helped them secure their qualification as the best third-place team (at worst) in Group E.
Three more tickets are on the line in the African Qualifiers.
