Group D in the courts

Aris BSA visits Athens in order to play against Panellinios BC in the greek battle for the first playing-day of EuroCup's group D.

Both teams face physical problems after their wins for the 7th playing-game of the greek league. More specifically, for the visitors, the captain of the “yellows”, Savvas Iliadis, will not play due to an injury he had from the game against Kavala on last Saturday. Also, center Blagota Sekulic is down with a flue and he is doubtful for the tomorrow's game and wing-forward Dimitris Tsaldaris did not participate in the last training in order to protect himself from a slight injury he had from Saturday's game. On the other hand, Sean Marshall and big-man Lazaros Agadakos managed to follow the today's training-program.

As for Panellinios BC, center Jurica Golemac will be out of the courts for at least 10 days as the magnetic medical examination showed.

Coach Andrea Mazzon noticed for the tomorrow's game:

“Panellinios BC has a great playing-momentum and definitely every first game for a competition like EuroCup is something difficult for every team. Panellinios BC is used to play continuous games, but our philosophy for every game remains the same, we have to play for the win.”

Also, Greek guard Nikos Argyropoulos stated for the “yellows”:

“Panellinios BC is a very tough team and it is going to be a difficult game. We try day by day to get better and we have the ability as a team to reach the win. It is good for us that many players have experience from European competitions and I do not know if Panellinios BC will get affected from the fact that we will play at the “Elliniko Arena” and not at Kipseli's court. We have to be concentrated during the whole game and we have to be aware of every player of Panellinios BC.”

On the other hand, coach Ilias Zouros stated:

“We face a team that we know very well in the courts. Aris BSA takes part in European competitions every single year, so the game is going to be difficult for us. We will not have Jurica (Golemac) with us, but we have to stay focus on the game in order to win.”

Djuro Ostojic noticed:

“Aris BSA is a really good team and we knowthat, from our visit in Thessaloniki for the first game of the season. This is going to be a totally different game and we will try as a team to continue our good performances.”

Finally, Turk Telekom visits Israel in order to play againsts Bnei Hasharon.
