Canada made an excellent offensive performance and beat Brazil at home (85-77) to come closer to the World Cup.

Six players scored in double figures for Canada, with Kelly Olynyk making a monstrous double-double (20 points, 19 rebounds).

At the same time, Cory Joseph had 16 points and 10 assists and Tristan Thompson contributed 10 points and 12 boards. Kevin Pangos scored 10 points and dished eight assists.

On the contrary, Leandro Barbosa led the way for Brazil with 18 points. Marcelinho Huertas’ (14 points, 12 assists) and Augusto Lima’s (10 points and 10 boards) double-doubles weren’t enough for the visitors to emerge victorious.

The Canadians remained on top of Group F, along with Venezuela (6-1). For their part, Brazil are now tied with the Dominican Republic in third place (5-2).

Brazil welcome the Virgin Islands (2-5) on Monday, whereas Canada will travel to Chile (1-6).
