Isaiah Whitehead joined Lokomotiv Kuban and spoke with the team’s official website, praising the squad’s head coach, Sasa Obradovic, and explaining why he signed with the Russian club.

Here is what the American combo guard said:

On Kuban’s head coach, Sasa Obradovic: “I wanted to play for a great coach. Sasa (Obradovic) is the perfect example. I also know Dorell Wright and his choice to sign with “Loko” for the upcoming season says a lot.”

On why he joined the team: “I believe in this team, and I think that we will succeed. It will be great to live in a new and different country, learn to speak Russian but also get to know the local fans and Russian people. Everything that happens is very exciting. Moving to a different country is a big change, but I’m ready for it.”

On adapting to Lokomotiv’s playing style: “I have nothing to worry about. We discussed everything with the coach. I believe everything will be fine.”
