Despite being hired as an assistant coach by the Toronto Raptors, Sergio Scariolo will still be the head coach of the Spanish national team.
The experienced coach had a meeting with the Spanish Basketball Federation and assured its members that he will be present in the second round of the World Cup Qualifiers.
The Spanish Federation announced that “Sergio Scariolo will remain on the helm of the team during the FIBA Windows. He has assured the members of the FEB management committee that he will fulfil all the obligations of his position and he has confirmed that his commitment to the NBA team allows him to be present in the Qualification Windows.”
