Per Adrian Wojnarowski of the ESPN, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Atlanta Hawks have agreed to trade Dennis Schroder and Carmelo Anthony.

The latter will then be waived by Atlanta and will be able to sign with another team, with Houston being the favourites to acquire him.

Anthony will be fully compensated by the Hawks for his $27.9M contract, while the trade also includes Mike Muscala and a 2022 first-round pick. The Thunder are expected to save up to $100M by trading Anthony.

For his part, Schroder, who wanted to join a franchise that would fight for the title, now has the opportunity to play alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George.

The 24-year-old point guard averaged a career-high 19.4 points in 67 games with the Hawks last season.
