As it was officially announced earlier today, London City Royals will take part in the British Basketball League Championship during the 2018/19 season.

The team will replace Leeds Force, who stepped away from the league a few weeks ago. The Royals will play their home games at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, as London now owns two basketball clubs for the first time since 1999.

“We are delighted to be launching the London City Royals, the newest basketball franchise in London at the Crystal Palace Sports Centre,” said Jon Sawyer, who is the Chairman of the Royals.

The fixtures for the new BBL season will be released this Monday, July 16.
