Real Madrid cruises past Partizan

Partizan held onto the game for only one period as Real Madrid stepped on the gas in the second quarter, easily beating Partizan with 78-58.

After Real Madrid’s initial 3-0, the lead changed hands many times in the first quarter, with Partizan closing the first quarter being ahead with 17-18 after a dunk by Nathan Jawai.

Vladimir Lucic widened Partizan’s margin to three points opening the second period, but that just did it for the hosts: Real Madrid run a partial 19-3 and went ahead in double digits (36-23), eventually going into the halftime up by 16 (43-27).

In the beginning of the second half, the margin reached 20 points for Ettore Messina’s squad, before the visitors balanced the situation, coming back to 14 points behind (47-33).

That was about all that the Serbs could achieve in this game, as Real Madrid faced absolutely no problems from then on, eventually edging the visitors with 78-58.
