After a series of unfortunate results Unicaja Malaga decided to sack Aito Reneses.
The decision was taken in the afternoon after the club’s board of directors had a meeting. His assistant Joaquin Costa was fired too.
Reneses’ dismissal comes after a growing dissatisfying amongst the club’s fans and administration. The coach who joined the club three years ago failed to keep the club in ACB’s elite, and failure to make it to Copa del Rey (Top8 clubs of ACB after the 1st round make it) just sealed the deal for him.
The new Unicaja coach will have a tough job if he is to pick up the team’s pieces and form a competitive season in the season’s remainder.
