The recent story of Mirza Begic‘s agents’ decision to terminate the contract with Zalgiris has a new twist. Zalgiris received a notice from Olimpija asking to let Begic leave the club.

It seems that Slovenian club has already reached an agreement with its former player and is looking to add him to the roster for the Euroleague Top 16 round.

Zalgiris declared that they will not issue a release document and therefore will block the possibility for Mirza Begic to sign a deal with another team. The club will also take the issue to FIBA Arbitral Tribunal which returns from holiday on January 11, 2011. According to the representatives of Zalgiris, some FIBA officers were surprised when they heard the story and admitted nothing of this kind has happened before in their practice.
