Crvena Zvezda have officially parted ways with head coach Dusan Alimpijevic after a woeful finish to the 2017-18 season.

After failing to reach the EuroLeague playoffs for a second straight term, the Belgrade side then missed out on a place for next season’s campaign by losing to Montenegrin side Budocnost in the Adriatic League finals.

Crvena Zvezda’s misery was complete when they were eliminated at the semi-final stage of the Radivoje Korac Cup against Partizan.

Alimpijevic led Crvena Zvezda in 69 EuroLeague games, only managing 11 victories.

Official team statement:

Crvena Zvezda informs the public that, starting Monday, Dusan Alimpijevic is no longer the first team’s head coach. The club and the coach terminated the contract mutually. Until further notice, the team will be led by the former assistant coach Milenko Topic.
