Besiktas give the Basketball Champions League a thumbs up

Besiktas have expressed their desire to stay in the Basketball Champions League and support the movement.

The club’s board member Cihat Kumusoglu has even gone as far to say that FIBA competitions will surpass events like the EuroLeague and EuroCup in three years.

“We will continue in the Basketball Champions League,” Kumusoglutold the Anadolu News agency.

“The FIBA competitions will surpass all other organizations in the next three years. I guess this competition will continue to grow. As a club, we are part of the competition’s committee and we know that there’s a big investment by FIBA. Everyone involved in basketball should assemble under one roof just like this competition.”

Besiktas should qualify for next season’s Basketball Champions League due to their position in the Turkish League, where they sit third.

The Basketball Champions League is FIBA’s third tier European competition behind the EuroLeague and EuroCup.
