Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk heads to the Final Four

Ukrainian senior Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk helped seal Kansas’ place in the NCAA Final Four and in the process, broke a record that stood for 28 years.

The 20-year-old Kansas sharp-shooter grabbed a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, along with five assists in the Jayhawks’ 85-81 win over Duke.

He also snapped Terry Brown’s three-point makes in a season for Kansas by hitting 112 triples in a season, beating the previous mark of 111 set by Brown back in 1991.

It was joy for Mykhailiuk, but not so much for Italian Davide Moretti, whose Texas Tech side were despatched by Villanova 71-59.

Moretti scored seven points in defeat.
