Dimitris Giannakopoulos’ intensifies war with EuroLeague using the media

Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos has continued his crusade against the EuroLeague by sending a letter along with a DVD and stats booklet to Greek media highlighting the league’s refereeing inaccuracies.

Giannakopoulos singled out Olympiacos and EuroLeague champions Fenerbahce as the two teams that get “preferential treatment” from officials which the owner claimed was the biggest crisis that basketball has ever faced.

He also calls out Real Madrid briefly in his investigation as well, saying that the club didn’t have to travel outside Spain during the double-game weeks, which is true.

Giannakopoulos is currently suspended by EuroLeague Basketball for comments that he made on social media following Panathinaikos’ loss to Fenerbahce in January.

But the outspoken owner defied the ban and was present for Panathinaikos’ EuroLeague game against Olympiacos last month and as a result, was fined €60,000.

Here are the contents that Giannapoulos sent to the Greek media today (Via Eurohoops):
