Sunday’s ProA game between Nanterre and ASVEL drew a new league attendance record in France, breaking a previous feat set back in 2009.

The game, which was played at the U Arena, drew 15,220 spectators, more than in the French Cup final played last season at the Omnisports Bercy between Nanterre and Le Mans which had 15,207.

The mark broke the league encounter between ASVEL and Orleans in 2009, which drew in 13,755 fans.

Nanterre closed out a narrow 81-80 win in an exciting encounter to stay fourth in the ProA table, whereas ASVEL, owned by San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker drop to seventh.
