The Milwaukee Bucks have requested waivers on Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic.

The 32-year-old has been sidelined since December because of blockages in his lungs, and the Bucks office agreed that it was best for both parties to go their separate ways.

“The health of our players is our primary concern,” said Milwaukee general manager Jon Horst.

“The Bucks and Mirza Teletovic, in consultation with team doctors and other physicians, have been working together since December to evaluate and manage Mirza’s situation. As a result of the overall evaluation that we’ve gone through, at this time we are both moving on.”

“We appreciate all of Mirza’s contributions to the Bucks organization and our community. We wish him a lifetime of good health with his family.”

The Bosnian averaged 7.1 points in ten games this season while shooting 46 percent from three-point range.

Teletovic has also missed about three months of the regular season with the Brooklyn Nets back in 2015 because of blood clots in his lungs.
