It has been one of those stories that won’t go away. LeBron James will be a free agent this summer and while the player hasn’t dropped any hints himself, a lot of people are stating that he is interested in a move to the Los Angeles Lakers.

It’s considered a strange move if you’re a general NBA fan as James is with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers and we thought he might possibly end his career there. But once he won an NBA championship, fulfilling his lifelong ambition, it seemed that the tables had turned a little and maybe King James was looking for somewhere else to go.

The arrival of James would instantly make the Lakers relevant Playoff contenders again. Plus he makes players around him better, and whether LaVar Ball likes it or not, he would mentor Lonzo and make him a better player than he is now, as well.

And there is no question that Laker fans would love James in the purple and gold. So much so that supporter Jacob Emrani has spent some serious money on billboards to emphasise this fact.

This off-season is set to be fun. Let’s just hope though that James doesn’t make a nationally televised event.
