After loosing Alex Maric to Panathinaikos, Partizan has found repacement in Nathan Jawai, 24 year old Australian who comes to Belgrade after 2 seasons of attepmpting to prove himself in NBA league.
This is news which was eagerly expected by Partizan fans since they lost 3 big men this summer. Jawai will be joining Rasko Katic and youngster Besovic at center position and still it is expected that Serbia’s powerhouse will sign another player at power-forward position. This will be totaly diferent front-court line-up for Belgradians so newly appointed coach Vlada Jovanovic wont have an easy job in comming months.
Nathan Jawai (208 cm, 125 kg), nicknamed “Aussie Shaq”, was selected as 41st pick by Indiana Pacers in 2008 draft however, his rights were traded to the Toronto Raptors. He spent two years in NBA league in Raptors, Maverics and Timberwolves but he expirienced notable playing time in NBDL teams Idaho Stampede and Sioux Falls Skyforce. In two years he was contributing with 3,2 ppg and 2,7 rebounds in 45 NBA games.
