Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas has signed with Olimpia Milano, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Kuzminskas has signed a deal with the EuroLeague side until the end of the season with the option of staying for next season as well.

And the Italian side could use Kuzminskas’ talents at the moment. The stacked Milano side on paper currently sit third in the LegaBasket on a 9-3 record and are bottom of the EuroLeague table on a 4-11 mark heading into the second half of the season.

The 28-year-old Kuzminskas started the season with the New York Knicks but only played one game this season, falling out of favour. He averaged 6.3 points, going 32.1 percent from 3-point range in 68 appearances, where he started in five of those games.

Kuzminskas began his career with BC Sakalai in 2006 but made his break when he joined Zalgiris in 2010. He made the Lithuanian League All-Star team in each of his three seasons and was named MVP in 2010, when Zalgiris won the LKF Cup.

He travelled to Spain in 2013, signing a contract with Unicaja Malaga. Over the course of 36 games, he averaged 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, and caught the attention of the Knicks in July 2016.

The Lithuanian struggled to adapt to life in the NBA but eventually found his place in the regular rotation, but as he geared himself for his second season in New York, he was waived in order to give the Knicks room to fit Joakim Noah on the roster.

Kuzminskas will start his seventh season in the EuroLeague with his third club. He averages 7.7 points and 3.0 rebounds during that span.
