The final round of games before Christmas saw three games that went down to the last minute plus the first Moscow derby took place with CSKA Moscow taking the spoils.

Vassilis Spanoulis struck a game-winning triple with a minute left to hand Olympiacos a narrow 61-58 win away to Anadolu Efes.

Olympiacos remained joint top of the EuroLeague table with an 11-3 record as they were led by Spanoulis’s 12 points and four assists.

Baskonia condemned Barcelona to its fifth straight loss with a breathtaking 85-82 win in Vitoria.

Tornike Shengelia led the winners with 24 points as they improve to 7-7 ahead of the Christmas break. Barcelona led 82-81 with less than 45 seconds left. Shengelia and Marcelinho Huertas made free throws and Juan Carlos Navarro missed from way downtown seconds before the final buzzer.

Unicaja Malaga registered its third consecutive win, edging Olimpia Milan 74-71 but they needed a big run in the final period to get the win.

The visitors seemed to have control and held a 66-60 lead in the fourth quarter, but Unicaja made a series of defensive stops, which led to a 9-0 run that turned things around, as the hosts took the lead for good.

Jeff Brooks led the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

CSKA secured bragging rights for Moscow as they ousted Khimki 79-68 to remain joint top of the table.

Cory Higgins led the winners with a career-high 26 points.
