With Anadolu Efes struggling in the EuroLeague, as well as being in fourth spot in the Turkish league, things need to change.

The club have confirmed that they have parted ways with head coach Velimir Perasovic with Slovenian forward Edo Muric also leaving the team due to limited playing time.

Anadolu Efes are currently languishing at the bottom of the EuroLeague table with a 3-9 record, and even though some of their defeats have been heartbreakers. The results are what matters and the club have decided to go in a different direction as the Croatian’s second stint in charge of the Istanbul side ends.

Last season, he guided the team to the playoffs last season, where Efes was ousted by the eventual EuroLeague runners-up Olympiacos in a dramatic five-game series.

Efes becomes the second team to make a coaching change this season, after Baskonia replaced Pablo Prigioni with Pedro Martinez after round three. That worked wonders for the Vitoria side, who have now leaped into the top ten and Anadolu are aiming for something similar.

WHO COULD REPLACE PERASOVIC?

Reports in Turkey are suggesting that Ergin Ataman could replace Perasovic at the helm.

According to a original report by “Hurriyet”. The former Galatasaray and Turkish national team coach has worked for Efes twice in the past, between 1999-2001 and again between 2008-2010.

It would seem the most logical choice for the club but foe the time being, Agusti Julbe will be temporary head coach in Efes’ Turkish league game against Istanbul BB on Sunday.
