According to the latest information from Greece Panathinaikos has made the best offer, so far, to Sofocles Schortsianitis and is really close to landing him to OAKA for the next three seasons. In the meantime the Greens are close to acquiring 18 year old Alfa Diolo Fonsekas.
Big Sofo didn’t do as well as expected in the summer league and the offer he will be getting by the Los Angeles Clippers will probably be around $1M per season gross while Panathinaikos is currently offering around 4.1M euros for three seasons net. If the move goes through a total of three players will change from either Panatihnaikos or Olympiacos to their rivals, after Vassilis Spanoulis and Ian Vouyoukas.
In the meantime, Panathinaikos is close to landing 18 year old (born 13/10/1992) center Alfa Diolo Fonseka. The 210cm player with an impressive hands opening of 227cm has gotten his Greek passport some days ago and is ready to travel to Vilnius with the Greece NT for the youth European Championship.
Although the player has been playing basketball for just 11 months he is already international and considered one of the next big things of Greek basketball.
