Point guard Dee Bost has left Lithuanian side Zalgiris and has signed a deal with Basketball Champions League side Strasbourg.
Bost, who arrived in the off-season from Monaco averaged just 2.2 points a game with Zalgiris in the EuroLeague this season and has featured in six games, playing minutes sporadically.
Despite the anticipation when Bost signed, injuries have played a part in his tough start to the season and especially with a competitive roster under coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, the American felt that minutes would be harder to come by with his current struggles.
It’s a contrast to his time with Monaco last season, where he averaged 12.9 points and 5.3 assists in the French league and led them to the inaugural Basketball Champions League Final Four in Tenerife.
The 28-year-old North Carolina native took to Twitter, announcing his decision to leave Zalgiris, but at the same time, thanking them – calling the Kaunas outfit one of the most professional he has worked with.

Bost’s departure though has led to an open door, as the nifty guard has signed for Strasbourg, which was first reported by Italian media outlet, Sportando. Bost will be replacing Mike Dixon in a like-for-like position.
For Bost, it will all about playing time for Strasbourg as he returns to full fitness and rediscovers the form that nearly took Monaco to the Champions League title last season.
