Los Angeles Clippers’ Danilo Gallinari hopes to return to action this week after a glute injury sidelined him for the past month.

The Italian averaged 12.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 31.9 minutes in the nine games he had played in before getting injured against the Miami Heat on November 5.

The 29-year-old forward was back in practice last week and is getting ready to step on the floor again with Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Centre highlighted as his return.

Before he suffered his recent injury, Gallinari was averaging 12.8 points per game.

And with Patrick Beverley out for the season, Blake Griffin out until late January and Serbian Milos Teodosic out indefinitely, the Clippers could use the offence Gallinari can provide.
