Slovenia crack the FIBA top ten in new rankings

Eurobasket champions Slovenia have climbed five places in the latest FIBA world rankings, sponsored by Nike.

Led by Goran Dragic, Slovenia enjoyed an unbeaten campaign at Eurobasket, which results in them moving into the top ten and into seventh.

The biggest mover following Eurobasket is Iceland, who leap a giant 37 places into 47. Despite not qualifying for the summer championships, Netherlands move up 38 spots into 46 making them Europe’s biggest movers.

Four nations that did compete at Eurobasket from the European zone are Italy and Ukraine who both leap 19 places into 16th and 19th, respectively. Georgia and Czech Republic are now ranked 28th and 29th as part of their mass jump.

The biggest fallers in the European section are Great Britain, who slip 17 places into 39 after going 0/5 in the group stages at Eurobasket.
