Great Britain include WNBA and EuroCup Women champion in roster

Fresh off her WNBA championship Temi Fagbenle is part of the Great Britain national women’s side as they aim to qualify for Eurobasket Women in 2019.

Fagbenle did not step onto the court during Minnesota Lynx’s decisive WNBA Finals, game five win over the Los Angeles Sparks but says that the experience with the team was invaluable ahead of the international break.

“I am raring to go,” Fagbenle said during a conference call. “As I should be. My legs are ready. I’m ready to show what I’ve got.

“I worked hard pre-training camp. I thought I’d be playing. I didn’t and that’s ok. But now is the chance to show what I can do.”

The GB squad is littered with homegrown WBBL talent, but along with the WNBA forward, 2016 EuroCup winner Jo Leedham-Warner is also included on the roster as they look for a swift return to Eurobasket Women following an absence this past summer.
