Pete Mickeal calls it a day, aged 39

Former EuroLeague champion Pete Mickeal has announced his retirement from basketball, at the age of 39.

Multiple reports suggest that he will become a scout for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The American won the 2010 EuroLegaue title with Barcelona and found his best successes in Spain, as he also won the 2008 (also Finals MVP), 2011 and 2012 Liga Endesa league titles, four Copa Del Rey trophies (2009, 2011 and 2013) plus the SuperCup four times (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2010).

He began his career in Spain with Baskonia and towards the twilight years, spent a season with UCAM Murcia.

The forward had stints for Peristeri and Makedonikos in Greece and  Dynamo Moscow in Russia. He last played for Atenas de Cordoba in Argentina.
