Fresh off his Basketball Champions League MVP campaign with Banvit last season, Jordan Thoedore is now ready to make a name for himself in the EuroLeague with Olimpia Milano.
The Italian giants were humbled last season as they finished bottom of the EuroLeague and were eliminated in the semi-finals of the domestic league Playoffs. As expected Milano have vastly strengthened their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign. Bringing in Dairis Bertans, Andrew Goudelock, Vladimir Micov, Patric Young and Alturas Gudaitis as well as Theodore.
“In Milan I bring leadership. Fighting on the court ever, work hard. Dedication. I enjoy being on the court,” Theodore said to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Becoming the best point guard in EuroLeague is not about points scored but being always ready. Improve day by day. Individually I have my goals: becoming the best playmaker in EuroLeague, first in assists and steals. But all pass through the goals of my team. And from there it will come everything.”
The 27-year-old Theodore came off a stellar season in which he led the Turkish League in assists with 7.1 per game and ranked fourth in scoring with 18.5 points per game.
He was named MVP of the Turkish Cup final after leading Banvit to the trophy with a 66-75 victory over Anadolu Efes with 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists. And en route to his MVP season in the Champions League, he led Banvit to the title game; leading the competition with 7.5 assists per game and ranked fourth in scoring with 16.2 points per game.
