CSKA adds size with Marjanovic

CSKA Moscow keeps getting for the upcoming 2010-11 Euroleague season by inking center Boban Marjanovic to a three-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Marjanovic (221, 21) arrives from Hemofarm Stada, where he averaged 9 points, 5.3 rebounds and a block in 6 Eurocup games last season.

He helped Hemofarm to make it to the Serbian League finals in 2008 and 2010. Marjanovic also reached the Eurocup semifinals in 2009, as well as making it to the Adriatic League final in 2008. He has also been a member of the Serbian national team. Marjanovic helped Serbia to win the gold medal in the 2006 World under-19 Championships and the 2008 European under-20 Championships.

“I am very excited about my new contract and moving on to the next level in my career. It is a real pleasure to become a member of one of the best basketball clubs in Europe, with such an impressing tradition, and to have the chance to improve in such a great environment,” Marjanovic said. “I am happy to have Mr. Vujosevic as my coach and so many excellent players as my new teammates.”
