Milos Teodosic out of EuroBasket but Nemanja Nedovic expected to travel for Acropolis tournament

Serbia have been dealt a massive blow ahead of Eurobasket with the news that Los Angeles Clippers new recruit Milos Teodosic will miss the tournament with an injury.

The exact details are small at the moment but Teodosic joins Marko Simonovic, Miroslav Raduljica and Nikola Jokic as absentees for this summer’s Eurobasket.

“We have to take care of the players’ health and we have made a joint decision that Teodosic should skip the upcoming competition,” said Serbia coach Sasha Djordevic.

“He is a player who has been devoted to the national team for years and his desire to play has always been great. Unfortunately, in this situation, the desire is not enough. This is a big handicap for the team, but we continue with the same ambitions.”

There was finally some good news though for the Serbian national team, player-wise as the team continues their preparations for Eurobasket.

Unicaja Malaga guard Nemanja Nedovic is expected to be part of the team at the end of this week in the “Acropolis tournament” and it seems that he may, after all, play in the Eurobasket.

According to “Sportklub”, Nedovic traveled to Spain, where he was examined by Unicaja’s medical team and his collarbone injury doesn’t seem as serious as first reported.

Serbia have played five games in preparation for this summer’s Eurobasket, which starts on August 31 and won them all without Milos Teodosic and Marko Simonovic.
