Maccabi announce Norris Cole

Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv continued fortifying its roster by putting two-time NBA champion Norris Cole in the backcourt for next season, the club announced Tuesday.

A hard-charging guard, Cole (1.88 meters, 28 years old) played last season with Shandong of the Chinese League and Oklahoma City of the NBA, for 13 games.

He had previously played 347 games for two other NBA teams, Miami and New Orleans, and has career averages of 7.0 points, 2.7 assists and 2 rebounds in 23 minutes per game.

He won the NBA title with Miami at the end of each of his first two pro seasons, 2012 and 2013. Prior to turning pro, Cole starred for four seasons at Cleveland State University.

“Norris is a great player and he has a great personality,” Maccabi coach Neven Spahija said. “He can play and contribute a lot at both guard positions.”
