In a rather intriguing interview with a local Croatian newspaper, Dario Saric is ready to be the team’s primary option at Eurobasket.
Croatia have shown this far that they might be one of the surprise packages of this year’s Eurobasket following their disappointing campaign two years previous in Lille.
So far, the Croats have beaten France and Lithuania in the build-up to Eurobasket where they are housed in Group C with Spain, Montenegro, Hungry, co-hosts Romania the the team that eliminated them in the early knockout phase of Eurobasket 2015, Czech Republic.
And while Bojan Bogdanovic is the primary option on offence, the key for success will be the duo of Dario Saric and Dragan Bender, according to the Philadelphia 76ers forward.
“You know how it is with us. You win two games and you are a miracle and then you lose one and they throw stones at you”, said Saric in an interview at “Vecernji list”, Croatia’s biggest newspaper.
“I was allowed to have such kind of initiative always when I was younger and these are the details that give me added value. So it’s definitely an interesting option for me and Bender to be paired on the court. It takes time, the more we play together, the more we feel it.”
