Daniel Theis heads to the Boston Celtics

German forward Daniel Theis has reportedly signed for the Boston Celtics as he becomes the latest EuroLeague star that will head to the NBA.

Theis becomes the fifth German to play in the NBA. The 25-year-old inks a two-year deal with the Celtics.

The German international averaged 9.6 points and 4.6 rebounds for Brose Bamberg last season, shooting 41 percent from three-point range and 64.5 percent on two-point attempts.  He led Bamberg to three straight easycredit BBL titles and the 2017 German Cup.

Theis will look to be a significant contributor for the Celtics for the upcoming season, with Amir Johnson, Jonas Jerebko and Tyler Zeller all looking likely not to be returning.

Two Celtics big men, 2016 first-round picks Gershon Yabusele and Ante Zizic, spent last season playing overseas but are likely to be with Boston along with Theis for this upcoming season.
