Andorra wants to keep Thanasis Antetokounmpo

After one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history, Andorra are keen to maintain that form heading into next season and keep one of their most prized assets.

Greek international Thanasis Antetokounmpo was a driving force behind Andorra’s first Liga Endesa Playoff appearance in 22 years and though he didn’t lead the team in any specific category, the 24-year-old’s competitive spirit won over the fans and the coaching staff and now they are intent on retaining his services as they embark on a first ever EuroCup campaign next season.

The older brother of Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo bounced around the NBA G-League before flying out to the principality last August. In his first season with Andorra, Thanasis averaged 7.8 points a game, shooting just over 55 percent from the field.

Antetokounmpo also averaged 3.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks a game in his first season in the Liga Endesa.
