Itoudis: “Zeljko is the best coach in the entire EuroLeague”

CSKA Moscow’s head coach, Dimitris Itoudis, talked to TalkBasket.net about Friday’s semi-final against Olympiacos Piraeus, Milos Teodosic’s playing condition as well as his relationship with eight-time Euroleague winner, Zeljko Obradovic.

The Greek coach said Obradovic’s accomplishments speak for themselves, while he mentioned it’s an honour for him and the Euroleague that they have co-operated with the Serbian coach.

“Everyone knows what my relationship with Zeljko is. I believe he is the best coach in Europe and one of the best worldwide,” Itoudis added.

Regarding the semi-final, Itoudis said they still have to make some adjustments, but they will stick to their game plan, having prepared very well, both physically and mentally.

“We didn’t come here to change our playing style, we will do our best, as always,” he added.

Concerning Milos Teodosic’s injury, CSKA’s coach stated he was injured during the playoff series against Baskonia and hasn’t played since then, however he took part in the last training sessions and will probably be available for Friday’s battle.

“He is not 100% ready, however his determination is very high, even though it’s not the best scenario for him to have missed so many practices,” said Itoudis.

Moreover, coach Itoudis thinks the semi-final will be a different game compared to the regular season’s ones.

“One way or another it’s going to be difficult, the two games in the regular season doesn’t determine the winner, however they will help us make the necessary changes.”
