Khimki tabs Sergey Monya

As officially announced by the club, Sergey Monya will be a Khimki player for the next two seasons. Monya has had a great season being the captain of both Russia National Team and Dynamo Moscow and he drew some attention on him.

Khimki’s GM, Viktor Bichkov stated: “It is no secret that Monya is one of the best Russian players, he has been a leader in all clubs he has played so far and is an extremely experienced player. Many top European clubs would love to have him in their squads and we are happy that Sergey chose us instead.”

The player commented: “Khimki is a very strong team and has been participating in many finals in the past few seasons while had a very good debut in Euroleague. The club’s management showed interest in me and impressed me with their professionalism. I’m glad to be playing for Khimki starting next season and I hope to help the team out in their targets both in Russia and Euroleague. There are plenty of quality players in the team, including my friend Vitaly Fridzon.”
