Liga Endesa 2016-17 round up (week 28)

Real Madrid became the first team to secure a Playoff spot in the Liga Endesa with an 86-82 win over rivals Baskonia in the Spanish capital.

The win though was not enough for Real to stay in the top spot in the league, previously held by Tenerife. The victory was well earned, as Baskonia took an 80-77 lead thanks to a three-pointer by Adam Hanga. But an unsportsmanlike foul by Chase Budinger later on gave Real Madrid the opportunity to not only tie the score but gain the lead thanks to Anthony Randolph.

From there, Real held on.

Top spot instead goes to Valencia, who comfortably beat basement side Manresa 94-73 in the late game. Rafa Martinez posted 18 points to lead the EuroCup runners-up who bounced back after their finals loss to Unicaja Malaga in roaring fashion.

Tenerife dropped to third in the table as they slipped up at Andorra, who head to eighth place and most importantly, the final post-season birth.

David Walker led Andorra with 17 points and Giorgi Shermandini added 13 to go along with seven rebounds as Andorra won 85-82.
