Official: Anzulovic replaces Kurtinaitis in Lietuvos Rytas

Drazen AnzulovicLietuvos Rytas officially unveiled the new head coach Drazen Anzulovic who will replace Rimas Kurtinaitis. 43-year-old Croatian coach declared that the main reason why accepted the offer was high ambitions of the club (Rytas GM Jonas Vainauskas set the goal for the team to reach Euroleague quarter-finals next season).

Meanwhile, Jonas Vainauskas described Anzulovic as a brave coach. He also added that he likes to bring such people to the club whose career is not going as well as their talent suggests.

Assistant coach Robertas Kuncaitis is set to leave Lietuvos Rytas. He will be replaced by Latvian coach Roberts Stelmahers who is a former player of Rytas. Stelmahers was in charge of LKL team Perlas in the second half of the past season.

Rimas Kurtinaitis who was a head coach of Rytas for one and a half years revealed that two teams from Spanish ACB league expressed interest in his services.
