Lietuvos Rytas have already found a replacement for Rimas Kurtinaitis. According to both Croatian and Lithuanian media, Drazen Anzulovic is set to become a successor of Kurtinaitis. 43-year-old Croatian coach is currently unemployed after his last club, BC Donetsk, has been disbanded.
Jonas Vainauskas, GM of Lietuvos Rytas, wasn’t too happy with the way the team played under Kurtinaitis. As a result of that the search for a new coach has been ongoing for some time.
Drazen Anzulovic has Euroleague experience as he coached Croatian champions Cibona Zagreb. He has also coached Ural Great in Russia, Spirou Charleroi in Belgium and BC Donetsk in Ukraine. Anzulovic was an assistant coach of Jasmin Repesa at Croatian national team in last year’s Eurobasket.
