In his first NBA All-Star Game, Greece native Giannis Antetokounmpo shone brightest for the Eastern Conference with elite team-mates such as LeBron James and Kyrie Irving for company.
Despite being on the losing end of a 192-182 scoreline in New Orleans, Antetokounmpo led the East with 30 points on 14/17 shooting in just 23 minutes on court plus the Greek Freak showed off his athletic dunking repertoire with Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry often his victim.

After being dunked on twice already by Antetokounmpo, Curry played to the crowd as he did not want to face the Greece international a third time and laid on the court, avoiding the Milwaukee Bucks forward who put down a ferocious windmill slam.
“He got dunked on a couple times. I’d have done the same thing if I was him.”, said Durant, who is a team-mate of Curry at Golden State.

Marc Gasol emerged as one of the West’s quiet contributors as they soared to a record-setting victory. The Spanish veteran tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in 21 minutes of action. Russell Westbrook paced the winners with 41 points.
It was the New Orleans Pelicans own Anthony Davis who stole the show overall, scoring 52 points, taking an All-Star record 39 shot attempts, ultimately smashing the previous record of 42 points, set by Wilt Chamberlain in 1962.
Davis held off a late surge by team-mate Westbrook, who would have got a third straight All-Star Game MVP honour.
