Copa del Rey round up: Valencia and Real Madrid to contest final

Valencia came from behind to topple Barcelona and Real Madrid needed a second dose of overtime this time against Baskonia in the Copa del Rey semi-finals in Vitoria.

Trailing 38-29 at half-time, Valencia turned the game on its head in the third quarter and ran Barcelona ragged, holding them to 13 points in the first ten minutes of the second half to take a 59-51 advantage heading into the fourth.

Barcelona were rocked and despite a late fightback in the final quarter, they were never able to recover and leading scorer Tyrese Rice was held to just three points on 1/10 shooting.

Veteran Fernando San Emeterio paced Valencia with 16 points.

After surviving one session of overtime in their win over Andorra 48 hours earlier, Real Madrid needed the extra session again and once more they emerged victorious against the tournament hosts Baskonia 103-99.

Luka Doncic and Sergio Llull both posted 23 points for the winners and it was the latter who forced overtime with an open three with 36.8 seconds left.

Llull had the chance to win it in regulation but his game-winning attempt missed it mark. However, Madrid had the last laugh in the extra session.

Adam Hanga led Baskonia with 19 points.
